Hello together
On June 19th I started at the Ironman 70.3 Rapperswil. I caught a fast group during the swim and was able to keep up with the fastest thanks to the intensive swim training during the winter months (about 15km per week). On the bike I tried to ride the climbs offensively and to cool down well in the hot temperatures. I pulled out a lead of almost 4min on the 2nd place finisher. On the run I had to go really low. With the hot temperatures of 34 degrees it was important not to overpace and to cool down well at every aid station. My lead melted away like ice cream in the sun. Thanks to the great support on the course I could save myself to the finish and I am mega happy with the Overall Age Group victory and place 13 (incl. Pros).
After the race and the exam period at the ETH my batteries were pretty empty. On vacation in St. Moritz I was able to recharge my batteries and I am looking forward to the preparation for Ironman Hawaii.
